Deputy Fire Chief Michael Wright of West Allis has been placed on administrative leave.
He joins the Assistant Fire Chief, who is also under investigation.
City officials have not disclosed the nature of the internal inquiry.
The Assistant Chief had previously faced internal charges for policy violations several months ago.
