The nation’s largest single-day food drive is set to take place tomorrow (May 10th).
The National Association of Letter Carriers’ 33rd annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive will be held tomorrow morning across the country.
Stamp Out Hunger will have mail carriers picking up bags of nonperishable food items before delivering them to local food banks.
All that those who are interested in participating have to do is purchase nonperishable items and leave them by your mailbox for collection.
Locally, the Sheboygan County Food Bank will receive donations from Sheboygan, Howards Grove, and Kohler.
Sheboygan’s Food Bank has also stated the items they most need include cereal, canned soup, canned tuna and chicken, pasta, and pasta sauce.
The goal this year in Sheboygan County is to see 35,000 pounds of food donated to help those in the community experiencing hunger.
Some in the Sheboygan community may see non-mail carriers collecting food items tomorrow because numerous individuals will be volunteering to assist the carriers as a significant amount of residences are expected to participate.
