
A contingency from Valders High School brought home gold from the Wisconsin Public Services Solar Olympics.
The team was one of fourteen schools from around the area to compete at UW Oshkosh yesterday (May 7th) in thirteen events.
The Valders squad not only claimed the top spot om the Solar Photography and Solar Essay events, but Norianna Burton also won the Individual Solar Jeopardy competition, and the squad finished first in the team competition.
Kiel and Mishicot also sent teams to the competition, which aims to give high school students a hands-on opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned about solar energy throughout the school year.
Other Eastern Wisconsin schools participating were Ashwaubenon, which won the Solar Advertising Campaign and Solar Car Race events, West De Pere, which presented the best Solar Sculpture, and Green Bay West.
