Two local ball teams will try to expand their leads in their respective conferences today.
In high school baseball, Manitowoc Lincoln, the 13th-ranked team in the state and 6th in Division 1, will host Green Bay Southwest in an FRCC matchup.
The Ships currently sit atop the conference standings with an 8-1 record, while the Trojans are 2-9 in league play.
Also on the calendar is Manitowoc Lutheran hosting Mishicot, Roncalli defending their home diamond against Chilton, Two Rivers on the road for Valders, Reedsville at home against Hilbert, Kiel hosting New Holstein, and Brillion on the road for Sheboygan Falls.
Elsewhere, Plymouth is at home for Berlin, Random Lake hits the road to take on Oostburg, Howards Grove crosses county lines to take on Ozaukee, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah invades St. Mary Catholic, Sheboygan Lutheran makes the short trek to Kohler/Sheboygan Christian, Sheboygan North travels to De Pere, and Sheboygan South is at home against Notre Dame.
Also, Little Chute is at Denmark, Ashwaubenon is in Pulaski, Green Bay Preble is at Bay Port, Green Bay/East/West is home for Shawano, Luxemburg-Casco is at Fox Valley Lutheran, Appleton North is at home facing Kaukauna, while Appletons East and West are on the road to battle Fond du Lac and Kimberly, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Mishicot softball team, which is ranked #2 in Division 4, and #12 among all divisions, will put their 6-0 conference record on the line as they host a Manitowoc Lutheran squad seeking its second Big East North win.
Elsewhere around the area, Roncalli is on the road to battle Brillion, Valders is hosting Two Rivers, Reedsville is home for Hilbert, Kiel will defend their home diamond against New Holstein, Plymouth is home for Kettle Moraine Lutheran, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah is at St. Mary Catholic, Radom Lake will battle Oostburg on the road, Sheboygan Falls/Kohler is hosting Chilton, Sheboygan South will be at Ashwaubenon, while Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian is home for Green Bay West/East.
Also, Denmark is hosting Clintonville, Luxemburg-Casco is on the road for Wrightstown, Menasha is at Xavier, West Dre Pere is hosting New London, Green Bay NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy is at Marion, Kaukauna is invading Fond du Lac, Appletons West, East, and North are all on the road, facing Hortonville, Kimberly, and Oshkosh West, respectively.
