An area state representative is joining his Republican colleagues by calling for the cutting of “Red Tape.”
3rd District Assemblyman Ron Tusler has thrown his support behind a package of provisions called the Red Tap Reset.
According to Tusler, Wisconsin is currently the 13th most regulated state in the US and second in the Midwest behind Illinois.
The Harrison Republican calls the regulations burdensome and have “slowed economic growth, increased prices, and disproportionately harmed small businesses and low-income households.”
According to WisPolitics, Tusler’s provision would strengthen accountability by requiring courts to award attorney fees and costs to plaintiffs who successfully challenge unlawful administrative rules.
He says the provision would empower small businesses to take on unlawful regulations and agencies.
The provision also has support from State Senator Eric Wimberger of Oconto.
