The man charged in a weekend hit and run in Manitowoc is still in the Manitowoc County Jail.
35-year-old Steven Behnke of Manitowoc was given a $10,000 cash bond by Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa on charges of Operating while Revoked and Hit and Run, both with Causing Great Bodily Harm enhancers, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Obstructing an Officer, and being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Behnke was believed to have been behind the wheel of a vehicle that hit a motorcyclist at around 11:00 Sunday evening (May 4th) at the intersection of South 10th and Washington Streets.
He then fled the scene, leaving the vehicle at a local collision repair shop, and told police he was in Sheboygan.
As a part of his bond, Behnke was ordered to have no contact with the victim or any establishment whose primary purpose is the sale of alcohol, not possess any dangerous weapons, maintain absolute sobriety, and not operate a motor vehicle.
He is due for his initial appearance on May 12th.
The status of the motorcyclist has not been released, but he was taken by EMS to Green Bay.
