Wisconsin is part of a multi-state lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The state, along with 19 others, claims the federal government’s decisions to cut health programs and staff have weakened protections, especially for children exposed to lead in Milwaukee schools and youth tobacco prevention.
Attorneys General from Illinois and Minnesota are also participating in the legal action.
