It’s National Travel and Tourism Week in Manitowoc, and the city’s tourism agency is recognizing the power of travel.
Visit Manitowoc Executive Director Courtney Hansen explains that the team is very excited to “soon welcome an influx of visitors to the lakeshore to experience can’t-miss summer events, relaxing beaches, and our many unique offerings.”
She also called the week a perfect time to celebrate the thriving and vital industry on WOMT’s Be My Guest program.
“Our most recent economic impact data shows that it has a $226 million impact each year,” she stated. “So, we’ll be getting some updated information, second week of June on what that data is still looking like.”
Hansen also thanked those who work in tourism on the frontline.
Hansen notes, “Those individuals who are staffing our hotels, our attractions, our coffee shops, our restaurants because they are the face of Manitowoc to so many visitors that come into our community.”
More information about tourism’s impact on the Clipper City will be discussed during Visit Manitowoc’s annual tourism breakfast, which takes place tomorrow (May 7th) at the Inn on Maritime Bay.
Hansen will highlight the Destination Marketing Organization’s recent projects, upcoming initiatives, and how local businesses can partner to best collectively market Manitowoc as a premier destination.
