
The Manitowoc Lutheran baseball team is back to .500 in the Big East North as they took down Mishicot 6-0.
The matchup at Mishicot High School was a pitcher’s duel through four innings, before the Lancers notched a pair of runs in each of the final three frames.
It was a true team effort for the Lancers as Joel Voigt, Logan Haupt, Derek Laabs, Wesley Hecker, and Will Franzen all drove in runs, with Haupt doing so with a triple.
The Indians struggled at the plate, with Brogan Wasurick being the only batter to notch a hit, doing so with a double.
Nolan Sand pitched 6 innings for Mishicot, allowing 8 hits and 4 runs while also striking out 10 batters. Wasurick closed out the final inning, allowing a pair of hits and runs.
Staudt only allowed 2 hits in his full game effort for the Lancers, while striking out 4 batters.
With the win, Manitowoc Lutheran improved to 4-5 overall and 2-2 in the Big East North.
They will next be in Hilbert today as a part of a stretch of four games in as many days.
Mishicot is now 5-8 overall and 3-2 in conference.
They will be off until a rematch with the Lancers, this time on the road, this Thursday (May 8th).
