A rural Two Rivers man has been convicted in an attempted homicide case from last year.
According to court records, Manitowoc County Judge Mark Rohrer accepted a no-contest plea of attempted 1st-degree intentional homicide from 63-year-old Calvin C. Eis during a plea hearing yesterday (May 5th).
Three other charges, including substantial battery, strangulation and suffocation, and domestic abuse, were dismissed but read into the record.
Judge Rohrer also set a sentencing hearing for August 6th.
According to the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, Eis was arrested on July 4th last year after multiple emergency services were called to a residence in the Town of Two Rivers.
They found Eis and a 51-year-old female victim with multiple stab wounds.
The stab wounds on Eis were later determined to be self-inflicted.
Both were taken to a local hospital before Eis was taken to jail.
