The Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin is teaming up with Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels to highlight the need for blood donations.
Mayor Nickels will be at the Manitowoc blood donation center at 619 Reed Avenue at 10:30 this morning to donate a pint of blood.
He will then stick around for a question and answer session and photos.
Those who would like to give the gift of life are encouraged to make an appointment by calling 1-877-BE-A-HERO (1-877-232-4376) or visiting Versiti.org.
Anyone 17 or older in good health and meeting eligibility requirements is encouraged to donate, with parental consent required for 16-year-olds.
Walk-ins are also welcome.
