The Manitowoc man recently arrested on his 4th OWI is free on bond.
38-year-old Nicholas R. Sampe was given a $5,000 recognizance bond by Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa, with OWI – 4th being the only charge.
An officer on patrol witnessed a vehicle driven by Sampe speeding in the area of Downtown Manitowoc, and swerving over the center line.
Sampe admitted to drinking a few drinks prior to getting behind the wheel, and an empty beer bottle was found in the back of his car.
Sampe was ordered to maintain absolute sobriety and to not operate any motor vehicles.
He is due back in court on May 19th for his initial appearance.
