
WOMT Radio once again brought home plenty of awards from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Awards for Excellence Gala.
For the 6th year in a row, WOMT was named the Medium Market News and Talk Station of the Year and repeated as News Operation of the Year.
The team also collected a total of seven first-place awards, including Best Continuing Coverage for the Disappearance of Elijah Vue.
The news team also received the award for Best Breaking News Coverage for the announcement of Elijah being found, and Best Use of Audio in Radio News for the coverage of a Reedsville basketball player surpassing 1,000 career points.
The final news award was for Best News Writing for a story about Lighthouse Recovery Community Center continuing to battle stigma surrounding addiction.
WOMT was also honored for having the best election promo and for Best Public Service Announcement.
WOMT Radio also collected a total of seven second-place awards and four third-place honors.
Lake 98.1 was honored with the Best Significant Community Impact for the Shelter Tree benefiting The Haven Men’s Homeless Shelter, while also collecting five second-place awards and three third-place awards.
