Construction on two more Manitowoc County highways will cause them to be “Open for Local Traffic Only.”
Highway Commissioner Greg Grotegut explains that County Highway R from County Highway P to Highway 310 will only be open to local traffic starting next Thursday (May 8th) because of milling on the road.
The milling will take place first, followed by two weeks of curing before a final layer of asphalt, shouldering, and pavement marking gets done.
The detour for that project will be from County Highway P to Highway 10/310 to County Highway R.
The second highway project takes place on County Highway Y from County Highway R to County Highway Q.
The work will be the same, but the detour will be from County Highway Y to Highway 147 back to County Highway Q.
Both projects are expected to be finished by mid-June, depending on the weather.
