Police in Sheboygan took a unique route to try and achieve safer roads.
The Sheboygan Police Department took to Facebook on Wednesday (April 30th) around 5:00 p.m. to warn residents that they would be paying extra attention to specific spots around the city for traffic violations.
In the statement, they said, “Motorists are encouraged to slow down and obey traffic laws as they enter and leave the downtown area from N. 14th St. and Erie Ave. and Kohler Memorial Dr. in Sheboygan.”
Officers were specifically paying extra attention to these areas for speeding, distracted driving, and following other vehicles too closely.
In response to their post, many Sheboyganites expressed thanks to the officers, as many have observed unsafe driving practices in the area themselves.
At this time, no numbers regarding the number of traffic stops made or tickets handed out are available.
