A Manitowoc teen with numerous open court cases, including a child abuse case, was arrested again.
For the second time this week, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Jhonathen Lee, this time for having an “extremely loud exhaust” and for not having the registration plate properly mounted on the front of the vehicle.
Lee pulled over on Division Street, just west of South 36th Street, just after 1:30 a.m., and immediately exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
Backup was called, and a perimeter was established.
A drone was then launched, which spotted Lee in the backyard of a home in the 1500 block of South 27th Street. He then began running west through more backyards, before finally being detained in the 1500 block of South 37th Street.
When asked why he fled, he said, “I don’t know” before calling himself a derogatory term intended to mean stupid.
Lee was taken to the Manitowoc County Jail without further issue on charges of Obstructing and two counts each of Misdemeanor and Felony Bail Jumping.
