A Manitowoc man is facing charges after picking up methamphetamine for a delivery.
An officer was on patrol in the 1100 block of South 22nd Street, where they watched a vehicle park in front of a known drug house.
A man and a woman exited the vehicle, went inside, and came back out shortly after.
The officer recognized this as a potential “short-term drug traffic”, which is when drugs are picked up from one location to be delivered to another.
The officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of South 21st Street and Western Avenue at 6:30 Thursday evening (May 1st).
The 41-year-old male driver claimed they were coming from a friend’s house, but displayed several nervous behaviors.
The man was searched, which came up empty, but a container attached to the keys was found to contain the residue of a substance later determined to be methamphetamine.
He was then arrested and while being booked into the Manitowoc County Jail, detention personnel located a sandwich bag inside of him which contained nearly 17 grams of fentanyl and methamphetamine.
The man is now facing charges of Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic, and Methamphetamine, each with intent to deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Jail Facility with Intent to Deliver, Obstructing an Officer, and Felony Bail Jumping.
