There will be a couple more recovery residences coming to Manitowoc.
Last week (April 21st), the Common Council held two public hearings for Conditional Use Permits for the operation of transitional housing residences on 7th and 10th Street.
No one spoke at the hearings, but the CUPs did receive a lot of support from CORE Treatment Services, which operates transitional homes in the city, as well as some members of the public.
The home on 7th Street will have a maximum of 14 people being allowed to stay, while the home on 10th Street will house a maximum of 16 people.
Both homes will be run by Restoration Recovery LLC and will offer men an affordable housing option who are transitioning from drug and or alcohol treatment.
More information can be found in the agenda for the April 21st Common Council meeting, which can be found at Manitowoc.org.
