The Sheboygan Police Department is saying goodbye to a retiring K9 after almost a decade of service.
K9 Max is calling it a career after being with the police department for the last seven years.
Sheboygan PD has described Max as a dedicated and hard-working partner alongside his handler, Officer Anna Taylor.
Max was well accomplished over the years, having been deployed over 2,700 times in his career.
During those deployments, he was responsible for locating 83 people and seizing more than 32,000 grams of illegal narcotics.
He was also often used to search for vulnerable or missing individuals and tasked with locating evidence of crimes that would have gone otherwise undetected.
In his retirement, Max will continue to live with his partner, Officer Taylor, as he has for the last seven years and enjoy the spoils of a successful career.
