It was another successful National Drug Take Back Day in Manitowoc County.
Healthiest Manitowoc County posted on its Facebook page that 213 pounds of unwanted medication were dropped from 152 vehicles in 3 hours.
However, those numbers are down quite a bit from last year when the county took in 450 pounds this time last year.
The group says that this weekend at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital, they didn’t just collect unused medications; they also eliminated potential harm from homes, water, and the streets.
The collaborative reminds residents that they could always take unneeded prescription meds to permanent drop boxes throughout the county if they missed the drop-off.
Locations include the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, Manitowoc Police Department, Two Rivers Police Department, Kiel Police Department, and Mishicot Village Hall.
