Today marks the beginning of Mental Health Awareness Month, and a local organization is reminding everyone that mental health can’t wait.
Mental Health America Lakeshore is challenging everyone to turn this May into Mental Health Action Month by coming together to share stories, provide education, and take action by making a donation, wearing green, or attending an event.
Sandy Leske, the Director of Advancement of MHA Lakeshore, says that everyone has the power “to make a difference by starting the conversation. Let’s rally together this May because awareness is only the beginning. Action is what drives change.”
MHA Lakeshore has set a donation goal of $25,000 to help fund community outreach for offerings in the month of May and beyond.
