A Manitowoc man charged with injuring a police officer has had a court date rescheduled, again.
50-year-old Mario Mora made another appearance in court on Monday as he faces charges of Resisting an Officer Causing Substantial Bodily Harm, Battery or Threatening a Law Enforcement Officer, Disorderly Conduct, and five counts of misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
Mora was in court on Monday for an adjourned initial appearance, his second such appearance in court.
At that hearing, Mora expressed his desire to obtain legal counsel for this case.
To honor his right to do so, the court decided to once again push back the 50-year-old’s adjourned initial appearance.
Mora was arrested by Manitowoc Police on April 17th after getting into a physical altercation with his partner inside a vehicle.
The two were later located by an officer at the intersection of South 14th Street and Grand Avenue.
When contacted by police, the male suspect became aggressive and combative with the officer in the middle of the street, injuring them in the process.
More Manitowoc Police officers arrived on the scene and used a taser to subdue Mora before placing him under arrest.
He will return to court for his third adjourned initial appearance on May 5th at 1:30 p.m.
