Authorities have detained a 12-year-old student after a firearm was discovered at a Cudahy elementary school Monday morning.
The Lincoln Elementary School principal notified parents via letter, explaining that another student had reported the weapon.
A school resource officer located and removed the gun.
While the student was taken into custody, officials have not yet stated whether any charges will be filed.
