
A fire in Fond du Lac County has caused significant damage.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and the Village of Eden Fire Department were called to a reported structure fire yesterday (April 29th) just after 10:15 a.m. in the 100 block of Sheridan Street in Eden.
Arriving deputies and fire personnel observed a substantial amount of smoke and flames coming from two detached garages on the property, with the flames starting to spread to the house.
Firefighters were eventually able to contain the fire to the two garages and a small shed, however, one side of the home sustained fire damage but was otherwise unharmed.
No injuries were reported to the residents or firefighters during the fire, and all family pets and property in the home were accounted for and unharmed.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office has said the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
As a result of the blaze, the two garages and shed have been considered a total loss, along with a vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence at the time of the fire.
The Eden Fire Department was assisted at the scene by Eden 1st responders, Campbellsport Fire, Town of Fond du Lac Fire, Mt Calvary Fire, RIT Team 4, RIT Team 2, St Cloud Fire, Oakfield Fire, Brownsville Fire, Lamartine Fire, Lomira Fire, City of Fond du Lac Fire, Kewaskum Fire, and an ambulance from Campbellsport.
