
Several local and area teams are ranked among the state’s best in girls’ softball.
The Mishicot Indians girls’ softball team remains the top-ranked team in Division Four in this week’s Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association wissports.net high school girls softball poll.
The Indians remain undefeated in the Big East North at 5 and 0 and 9 and 2 overall.
They take an eight-game winning streak into their game in Fox Crossing Thursday afternoon against St. Mary Catholic.
They defeated the Zephyrs 15 to 0 on Monday afternoon in Mishicot. Other area teams ranked in D-4 include Sevastopol at number seven, St. Mary’s Springs of Fond Du Lac is ninth, and Random Lake checks in at number ten.
The Brillion Lions drop from 8th to ninth in Division Three after losing their first game of the year last week, while Laconia moves from seventh to sixth.
In Division Two, Kewaskum, Luxemburg/Casco and Fox Valley Lutheran of Appleton are ranked fifth through seventh, respectively. Undefeated Kaukauna remains number one in Division One.
13-0 Green Bay Preble is fourth, and Ashwaubenon is fifth.
Kimberly and Neenah receive honorable mention recognition, while Green Bay NEW Lutheran/ Providence Academy is ranked tenth in Division Five.
