A hazardous waste cleanup event scheduled for next month has been moved to October.
Manitowoc County Recycling Center Operations Manager Jon Reisenbuechler tells Seehafernews.com that the 2025 Manitowoc County Hazardous Waste Clean Sweep programs will now be on Friday, October 10th, and Saturday, October 11th.
The recycling center moved the event out of an abundance of caution due to construction on Memorial Drive and the detour created on Highway 310, which has caused an increase in traffic.
The first day for the hazardous waste drop-off will be for farms and businesses and will require pre-registration.
The second date will be for Manitowoc County residents.
Items that will be taken include pesticides, cleaning products, oil and lead-based paints, automotive chemicals, and mercury.
Latex paints will not be accepted.
