The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office says some mail you are getting from the US Census Bureau is safe.
Sheriff’s deputies share that they’ve gotten calls from residents about the “American Community Survey” survey arriving in the mail.
While a nationwide census happens every 10 years, the Census Bureau also does smaller surveys in between to help guide the planning and distribution of resources.
The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office says it’s okay to complete the surveys as responses will help shape decisions that affect the community.
