A was a pitching battle that didn’t go Manitowoc Lincoln’s way as the Ships baseball team suffered their first loss of the season, falling 1-0 to De Pere.
The game was tied 0-0 in the bottom of the eighth when an error allowed Isaac Poehlman to get across home plate for the win.
Despite the loss, Brayden Steinbecker had a great game, surrendering only five hits while allowing one run, although it was unearned.
He also struck out eight and walked one during his 7 and 1/3 innings of work.
Steinbecker was also 2-4 at the plate to lead Lincoln in hits.
The Ships look to get back on the winning track when they return to Municipal Field to take on Sheboygan South this Thursday.
