
Green Bay’s Mayor has spoken following a successful NFL Draft last week.
Mayor Genrich began his statement by noting that while Green Bay may be the smallest NFL city, it has the biggest heart, which was on full display last week.
He also took time to thank all those who played a part in making it such an unforgettable experience, including public safety teams, city employees, the Village of Ashwaubenon, and Discover Green Bay.
An estimated 600,000 fans were on hand for the three days of draft festivities,s with just one arrest made and eight ejections with over 100 police officers on site during the event.
Mayor Genrich also credited Packers President Mark Murphey, who had the vision to bring the NFL Draft to Titletown.
He also thanked the citizens of Green Bay for the part they played in the draft’s success, saying, “I am incredibly proud of our citizens and grateful to them. At every opportunity, they open their arms wide to visitors and fans of all kinds and demonstrate a true spirit of northern hospitality that is palpable, contagious, and inspiring.”
