
The Manitowoc Lincoln Ship baseball team racked up two shutout victories over the weekend against the Ripon Tigers.
In game 1, Benson Dickrell got the scoring started in the 1st inning, drawing a walk to allow a run before Kameron Braun singled to bring in two.
Zack Brandl also singled to get a run in. The Ships would add to their lead with a Gabe Eichmann single and a Brandl walk, giving Lincoln a 10-0 win.
Cade Grapentine earned the win for Lincoln in game 1, allowing one hit and zero runs over 4 1/3 innings while striking out six and walking one.
Game 2 was won with a big fifth inning, which included scoring six runs.
Brett Danielson was hit by a pitch before Grapentine and Dickrell, his sacrifice flies, which all drew in runs.
Vance Schroeder added a single, and Eichmann also doubled to add runs.
Johnny Gordon also got on the board for Lincoln to add to the shutout by singling to bring in a run and securing the 11-0 win.
Bennet Johnson was the winning pitcher in game two, surrendering three hits and zero runs over four innings while striking out four and allowing no walks.
The Ships are now 10-0 overall, 7-0 in the FRCC.
They have a tough matchup this afternoon (April 28th) as they hit the road to face De Pere.
