The Wisconsin DOT is reminding motorists that the rest areas on I-43 in Manitowoc County will be closed starting on Monday (April 28th).
Vinton Construction out of Two Rivers has been hired as the Prime Contractor for the site work at the sites between Maribel and Denmark, just south of the Brown County line.
They will conduct the razing of the buildings at both rest area buildings, making some parking improvements, and some significant landscaping improvements, while Zeise Construction out of Green Bay will be the Prime Contractor for the new building construction.
Both rest areas will be completely closed to traffic sometime in June of 2026.
