The median price for a home in Manitowoc County is back above $200,000.
According to the March Home Sales Report from the Wisconsin Realtors Association, the average home sold in Manitowoc County in March went for $205,000, which is up $13,000 from February’s figure, and up $5,000 from March of 2024.
This trend was also seen last year, where home prices dipped in February only to jump back up in March.
The number of sales each month has been relatively consistent this year, with the 61 sold last month only outpacing February by three, and January by 56.
In March of 2024, 73 homes were sold.
Statewide, the median price for a home in March was $310,000, which is up nearly $5,000 from February and up nearly $10,000 from last March.
There were also nearly 570 more homes sold compared to the previous month, but roughly 400 fewer than March of 2024.
Chris DeVincentis, the Chair of the WRA Board of Directors, did note, “The moderating price appreciation, income growth and slight improvement in mortgage rates really helped on the affordability front. This is a good sign as we move into the peak season for sales. The ongoing challenge is the weak inventory levels that constrain home sales growth.”
