The Mead Public Library in Sheboygan is looking to improve its book return system.
The library has announced that it will be upgrading to a faster, automated system for check-ins and book returns.
This upgrade will allow those who check out items from the library to utilize a new outdoor book return system that will be automated and available regardless if the library is open or not.
However, the current automated book return system inside will be replaced with a manual return window that will integrate with the new system.
Currently, library users often wait for extended periods of time using the automated indoor return system, and this change will streamline the process.
While construction work is being done to make these upgrades, both indoor and outdoor book drops will remain open with minimal disruption, but material turnaround times may take longer than usual.
Updates on the upgrades at the library will be shared online as they are available and can be found by visiting the Mead Public Library Facebook page.
