A Manitowoc man is in custody after an assault in Kimberly.
The Fox Valley Metro Police Department was called to the intersection of East Maes Avenue and Pine Street on the night of April 16th on a reported sexual assault.
The caller, an adult female, told authorities that while she was walking in the area, an unknown man approached her, touched her inappropriately, and then ran away.
Officers began to canvas the area and utilized surrounding security cameras to identify a suspicious individual and vehicle in the area at the time of the assault.
The suspect has been identified as 27-year-old Milan Stewart of Manitowoc, who is currently being held in the Manitowoc County Jail on probation hold for a 2015 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and Suffocation conviction in Outagamie County.
Captain Jeremy Slotke with the Fox Valley Metro Police Department has said charges of Fourth-Degree Sexual Assault, Stalking, and Disorderly Conduct for Stewart have been referred to the Outagamie County District Attorney’s Office.
