The Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers football teams may be heading abroad in the coming years.
The Wisconsin Ireland Trade Commission will hold a meeting next week in Madison, and on the agenda for discussion will be the tariff effects on trade between Wisconsin and Ireland as well as goodwill missions to and from each locations.
A component of those goodwill missions may include the Green Bay Packers or another NFL team playing in Ireland in 2026 and the Badgers football team playing overseas in 2027.
While just proposals at this point, in the event it would happen, a reciprocal sporting event would be held in Madison, Milwaukee, or Green Bay featuring one or more Irish teams for an exhibition match.
Additional items to be discussed at the Wisconsin Ireland Trade Commission meeting will include electing a new commission secretary and the touring of dairies and cheese-making facilities in Wisconsin and Ireland.
