An Oshkosh man has been convicted after a fatal stabbing last year.
24-year-old Sybastian Crossman was present in a Winnebago County courtroom yesterday (April 22nd) for a plea hearing as he was originally charged with First-Degree Reckless Homicide.
Crossman had originally pled not guilty to the charge back in October; however, a plea deal was reached yesterday as he was found guilty due to a no contest plea of a lesser charge of Homicide by Negligent Handling of a Dangerous Weapon.
The 24-year-old was arrested by the Oshkosh Police Department in August after they asked for the public’s help in locating him when he was deemed a suspect in a stabbing.
The victim, an unnamed 20-year-old individual, was located by police and transported to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
Crossman will return to court in Winnebago County for his sentencing hearing on June 23rd.
