The Manitowoc Lincoln baseball team continued its reign of dominance over FRCC opponents with a 2-1 win against Green Bay Preble.
The matchup was a pitchers’ duel between Brayden Steinbecker and Payton Kuehn.
Steinbecker allowed a Hornets run in the first inning before locking down for the next four, allowing a total of 6 hits on the day.
Kuehn, however, started his outing by allowing a pair of hits, but also ratcheted down through the rest of the game, allowing only 5 hits while taking the loss.
Bennet Johnson would secure the save for Lincoln, allowing a pair of hits for the final two frames while striking out 2 batters.
Gabe Eichmann was the hero of the day for the Ships, driving in their only two runs.
With the win, Lincoln improves to 7-0, 6-0 in conference, and will be back on the diamond today for a make-up game against another powerful FRCC opponent.
The Ships will host Notre Dame, who are currently second in the conference at 6-1 against conference opponents, and 8-2 overall.
