The Manitowoc man who was recently arrested for his 6th OWI is free on bond.
52-year-old Jeffery R. Schmidt was given a $250 cash bond by Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa, which has since been furnished.
A gas station employee reported seeing Schmidt and another unknown individual drive away from the store after displaying signs of intoxication early Saturday morning (April 19th).
An officer located the vehicle they were in and asked how much he had to drink.
Schmidt refused to say how much he drank, and refused to perform a field sobriety test, but agreed to submit to an evidentiary blood draw.
As a part of his bond, Schmidt was ordered to maintain absolute sobriety and to not operate any motor vehicles.
He is due for his initial appearance on April 28th.
