K9 units were needed to apprehend a man in Appleton.
The Appleton Police Department was called to the 700 block of Hawthorne Drive Friday night (April 18th) on a report of a domestic disturbance.
Arriving officers declared probable cause to arrest a male occupant of the residence for domestic violence and previous bail jumping charges.
However, the unnamed male suspect was uncooperative, refused to exit the residence, and barricaded the doors.
Police also received information suggesting the suspect was high on methamphetamine and armed with bladed objects, which made them proceed with caution.
After numerous attempts to reason with the man, the homeowner granted authorities permission to enter the residence and attempt to arrest the suspect.
Upon being granted access, drone units and K9 Drakon were deployed.
Thanks to the work of Drakon, the suspect was located, arrested, and transported to the Outagamie County Jail.
Authorities later learned that the suspect also turned on the oven, opened the oven door, and turned on the stove-top burners while barricading himself inside the home.
The Appleton Fire Department assisted in ventilating the structure, ensuring it was safe.
The suspect remains in the County Jail as he faces charges of Domestic Disorderly Conduct, Resisting or Obstructing Officers, Second Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Felony Bail Jumping, and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
