An intersection near Downton Sheboygan is set to be closed for an extended period of time.
The Sheboygan Department of Public Works has announced that the intersection of 5th Street and Michigan Avenue will be closed beginning today (April 21st).
This closure comes as DPW crews will be completing resurfacing, storm sewer, and walk ramp reconstruction work.
This will be a complete closure at the intersection, and it is expected to be closed off to through traffic until the project is completed.
At this time, the DPW estimates the construction will be finished sometime in mid-May.
All work and traffic impacts are weather-dependent and are subject to change.
Motorists in the area are asked to use caution, slow down, and adhere to posted construction zone signs.
