A Manitowoc man has been arrested for his 6th OWI.
The Manitowoc Police Department was informed of a potential drunk driver by an employee at the Kwik Trip on Menasha Avenue at 5:15 Saturday morning (April 19th).
The employee reported that two men appeared under the influence in the store and that they had left in a vehicle.
The aforementioned vehicle was seen traveling east in the 1800 block of Waldo Boulevard as the responding officer was traveling west.
The officer went to the address of the registered owner, where they saw a man exit the driver’s side front door of the vehicle.
The man initially denied driving the vehicle, but the officer noted that they saw it was running a short time prior, and that the engine was making noises like it had just been turned off.
The man refused to say how much he had to drink and refused to perform a field sobriety test.
He eventually agreed to submit to a blood draw and was arrested on his 6th OWI and Failure to Install an Ignition Interlock Device.
