The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is doing its part to help anglers find places to fish.
The DNR has launched the Wisconsin Fishing Finder, which is a comprehensive online database of the state’s lakes, rivers, and other waterways.
The intention behind launching the Fishing Finder is to aid anglers in finding the most ideal places to catch the specific fish they are looking for.
The database is equipped with fishing regulations, lake habitat information, shore fishing locations, and much more for those looking to wet a line across Wisconsin.
With more than 15,000 lakes, 42,000 miles of streams and rivers, and 1,000 miles of Great Lakes shoreline, the DNR wants to make fishing in the state easier and more straightforward.
Justine Hasz, DNR Fisheries Management Bureau director, said, “This is an easy-to-use resource that we hope will become a staple for all anglers looking to discover more about Wisconsin’s fishing opportunities.”
Those looking for a specific species of fish or a particular type of fishing experience can do so by visiting the database at dnr.wisconsin.gov.
