More road construction will get underway in Manitowoc next week.
City Engineer Greg Minkel tells Seehafernews.com that Fleetwood Drive between Waldo Blvd and Stokes Lane is scheduled to start being reconstructed next Monday (April 21st).
Traffic will be shifted from one side to the other depending on where the utilities need to be replaced.
That will take about five weeks to complete. Once pavement removal and grading operations begin in late May, the work will be limited to one side of the street until crews have completed all of the work on that side.
Work on the 2nd side of the street will begin in July.
For drivers, Minikel explains that contractors with Vinton Construction will maintain one lane of one-way traffic in the Southbound direction only on Fleetwood Drive from Stokes Lane to Waldo Blvd.
A detour route will be established for traffic that normally uses Fleetwood Drive in a northbound direction.
The detour will be at Waldo Blvd to North Rapids Road to Fleetwood Drive, and following Fleetwood back to the construction zone at Stokes Lane.
The entire road project is expected to be finished in August.
