A Valders-based baker looks to be boosting her company’s operations.
The Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation explains that Peggy Sonnenburg of Peggy Bakes is gearing up to expand production at Nourish Farms’ commercial kitchen in Sheboygan County in the coming weeks.
Sonnenburg has gotten support from Sheboygan County EDC as well as Progress Lakeshore in Manitowoc County, the Small Business Development Center at UW-Green Bay, and the Food Finance Institute.
The expansion isn’t just about increasing capacity; it’s about deepening local roots, as Sonnenburg is a native of Sheboygan.
However, Peggy Bakes is maintaining its headquarters in Manitowoc County. Sonnenburg says of the move, “I’m so excited about what this next chapter means for me, for Nourish, and for the customers who have made all of this possible.”
Peggy Bakes was founded by Sonnenburg in May last year as a response to a personal challenge: finding snacks without refined sugar that don’t sacrifice flavor.
