Manitowoc Fire Rescue received a call early this morning (April 18th) just after midnight reporting a fire in the 4400 block of Knuell Court.
The initial 911 call claimed smoke and flames were emanating from a residence in the area.
The first firefighters on the scene quickly located a dehumidifier on fire in the basement of the structure, which crews were able to extinguish quickly.
Subsequent crews to respond performed the initial search of the building, and all occupants of the residence were accounted for.
No injuries to residents or Fire and Rescue crews were reported.
At this time, the fire remains under investigation, however, it is believed that the dehumidifier in the basement was the cause.
Currently, no estimate of the monetary damage caused is available.
