
A 50-year-old Manitowoc man who allegedly injured his partner and a Manitowoc Police Officer during a drunken altercation earlier this week remains in the County Jail.
Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa set bail at $5,000 cash Thursday afternoon for Mario T. Mora on charges of Resisting or Obstructing causing a soft tissue injury to an officer, Battery threats to a Law Enforcement Officer, Criminal Damage to Property, Disorderly Conduct, and five counts of bail jumping.
Officers responded to the area of South 18th Street and Western Avenue the evening of April 15th (Tuesday) for an initial call of a physical assault in progress inside a vehicle.
The suspect vehicle was located a short time later at the intersection of South 14th Street and Grand Avenue, where Mora allegedly became aggressive and combative with an officer in the middle of the street.
Additional officers arrived as Mora continued disobeying commands, and he was eventually subdued by a TASER, arrested, and taken to the county jail.
Both the officer and the female victim in the vehicle were injured and transported to area hospitals for treatment of their unspecified injuries.
Conditions of bail include that Mora have no contact with the victim or with any establishment whose primary purpose is to sell alcohol, is not allowed to leave the state of Wisconsin without court approval, and is to maintain absolute sobriety.
His initial appearance is scheduled for April 21st at 1:30 p.m.
