An eco-friendly mode of transportation, met with praise and skepticism, is coming back to the City of Sheboygan.
The City has announced that Bird Scooters are back for the season. Along with the announcement of the return of the rentable scooters, the City has also issued some warnings and guidelines for those who use them.
In order to use Bird Scooters, the Bird app must be downloaded on a mobile device, allowing riders to access and pay for a rental.
Users are also required to ride in bike lanes or on the street and stay off sidewalks.
Additionally, only one 18-plus rider is permitted on a scooter at a time.
After use, riders are also asked to park scooters at bike racks or in a safe location out of the pedestrian right-of-way.
Anyone in need of support while using a Bird Scooter can call 1-866-205-2442 or email the preferred email for Sheboygan users at sheboygan311@bird.co.
