A Manitowoc woman is in custody after making threats and spitting on police officers.
Officers with the Manitowoc Police Department were called to Red Arrow Park yesterday (April 16th) by a woman who claimed another individual had stolen her drugs, money, and car keys.
Arriving officers located the caller, a 21-year-old Manitowoc woman, who immediately directed profane name-calling at law enforcement.
As other patrons at the park watched, the suspect’s profanity continued while authorities confirmed she was on a probation hold.
Officers attempted to subdue the 21-year-old; however, she ran off, sitting in the middle of one of the baseball outfields before running to the top of the bleachers.
One officer was then able to place handcuffs on the woman despite her continued resisting.
While being escorted to a squad car, the suspect then spat on not one but two Manitowoc Police Officers.
A spit net was put on the woman, and she was placed into the back of a police cruiser, but her profane and threatening outbursts did not end there.
While being too vulgar to report entirely, her threats involved wishing death and other acts of violence upon an officer, their spouse, and their children.
The suspect was eventually transported to the Manitowoc County Jail, where she has been charged with two counts of Discharging Bodily Fluids on a Public Service Worker, Threatening Law Enforcement, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest.
