
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office has named its top law enforcement and corrections officers of the year.
Detective Brittney Schweigl has been named the 2025 Manitowoc County Law Enforcement Officer of the Year, while Derek Stevenson has been awarded as the Manitowoc County Corrections Officer of the Year.
Detective Schweigl has been with the Sheriff’s Office since 2014 and during her time has exemplified professionalism, dedication, and pride in her work.
She worked as a second shift patrol deputy prior to being promoted to the position of detective in late 2023.
C.O. Stevenson joined the Sheriff’s Office in 2022 and has consistently demonstrated exceptional skills in managing challenging situations and maintaining a positive environment.
In addition to his role as a C.O., Stevenson shows his desire to help the community by serving as an ambulance driver for the Town of Mishicot and is a volunteer firefighter with the Town of Two Rivers Fire Department.
Both awards will be formally handed out in collaboration with the Fraternal Order of Eagles on May 3rd at the Manitowoc Eagles Club.
