The suspect in the recent fatal stabbing in Green Bay has had her bond set.
45-year-old Tonia A. Piontek made her initial appearance in Brown County, where Judge Marc Hammer set her bond at $1 million cash.
Piontek has received this bond after being charged with First-Degree Reckless Homicide with Domestic Abuse and Use of a Dangerous Weapon modifiers.
The 45-year-old was taken into custody on Sunday (April 13th) after Green Bay Police were called to the 1300 block of Smith Street for a weapons complaint.
Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive 41-year-old Green Bay man who had suffered a stab wound.
He would later be pronounced dead.
At this time, authorities are withholding the victim’s name.
Investigations and witness interviews that followed suggest that Piontek and the victim got into a domestic disturbance.
The investigation into the fatal stabbing remains ongoing, and anyone with information regarding the case is urged to contact the Green Bay Police Department at 920-448-3200.
Piontek will return to court in Brown County on April 29th for a status conference.
